Uncompromising  Standards

Before any part is shipped it is inspected. Shafts, gears, feed wheels, etc. are checked for inner/outer diameter specifications to insure an exact fit. Assemblies, such as Motors and Top Heaters and tested to insure that correct specifications are met. Spring tensions are checked. All of this is done to insure that the parts you order provide years of trouble free performance.

Stainless Steel

Parts that come into contact with the moistening brushes are now manufactured using stainless steel. Our lower tape plates and lower Top Heater Plates are made of stainless steel to eliminate rust corrosion. The stainless steel surface also resists glue build-up reducing routine maintenance.  All of our replacement screws and kep nuts are only made with stainless steel.

Cryogenic Processing

To further insure the quality of our parts, normal wear items are cryogenically treated to extend the parts useful life. After arrival from the manufacturer in Pennsylvania, we then ship the parts to Cryo Nebraska for cryogenic treatment.

Cryogenics

Our research into ways of improving performance of normal wear items revealed that deep cold treating parts improves the parts performance. Industrial cryogenics involves heat tempering the part 3 times to reveal any stress defects in the part. Next, the parts are placed in the deep cold treatment chamber. The chamber is sealed and the temperature is dropped to -300 degrees F over a period of 12 hours. Then it stays for 24 hours at -300 degrees F using liquid nitrogen (the liquid nitrogen never comes in contact with parts). When the parts have been at the proper temperature for the appropriate time,  after 24 hours the parts are  allowed  to come up to room temperature very slowly as not to damage anything.

The molecular structure is more uniform and dense. This results in a larger contact surface area that decreases wear and friction. Also, the process stress relieves the part eliminating potential failure points in the part. Both of these mechanisms combine to create a more durable and wear resistant part.
